Cabin Decor: A Perfect Mountain Hideaway

Cabin decor and how to decorate a cabin. Yep, that became a real thing I needed to think about a few months ago. Like on a way bigger level than just making sure we had toilet paper in the cabinet.

Wait … Why Did I Even Need Cabin Décor Ideas?

Let me back up. Several months ago, our build in the mountains was finally nearing completion. We built this beautiful getaway as a vacation home for family get-togethers, then planned on renting it out when we weren’t there.

However, I was also feeling really stuck. Really, really stuck. Like most moms, there was so much I wrestled with as I contemplated my children, their needs, and how I could rise to the occasion.

Then, suddenly, it hit me. Maybe this was an unexpected answer to finding that sense of peace I desperately wanted! Every time we had gone up to visit, I just loved how it felt. The smell in the air. The change of pace naturally breathed life back into our stagnant habits.

So…We made the decision to move!

I felt a million emotions as we drove away from our house in the valley. But overall, I was excited. Excited to take a leap of faith and follow my heart. It has paid off! Hugely! I feel so much peace every night looking out into the layers of mountains and trees.

I’ll be honest, though – decorating a cabin has also been extremely fun. I wanted to create a cozy place that would hold up and withstand years of memory-making! I understand this doesn’t match what most people picture in their minds. It’s not a rustic log house with bear statues flanked by moose curtains and a matching set of red camp chairs in the living room.

It is my refuge.

So, I’ve been on a mission to create a home in the mountains with the things I love!

Cozy Mountain Home Elements

Enter Wallaroo’s Furniture! These couches… almost no words describe how much I love this furniture and mattress company. Imagine West Elm meets your favorite napping couch at Grandma’s house. That’s the level of pure excellence I’m talking about here.

When we went to look, my kids acted like they were feral. I was on my way back out the door when the sweet owners of the store stopped me.

“These couches are MEANT to be lived on!”

They even encouraged me to take some videos to share on my Instagram page to illustrate just how confident they felt in their products' durability as my kids literally played hopscotch across an ottoman. Ummmmm………what?!

I fell in love with their designs and the high-end level of quality without the huge price tag. I even wrangled a code for you to use when you buy: JAZZ10. Check them out – you will love what you see!

Another piece of creating peace (like what I did there?) in my getaway in the woods was finding sturdy area rugs that still look nice. I am a huge fan of the Loloi brand and bought several area rugs to help tie the open-concept floor plan together.

For instance, check out the Loloi II, which makes the space. There are so many designs that can effortlessly transform a bedroom or hallway. I also added this gorgeous wool/jute tufted rug that provides just the right amount of visual interest. I can’t wait to see how seamlessly these rugs blend with my holiday and Christmas décor

Cruise Amazon

Amazon never lets me down. From storage to pretty pieces, I have loved adding several cabin décor ideas to my cozy feel. For instance, I adore adding “life” (fake life albeit, but the principle remains) to each room.

One of my favorite pieces I have is this gorgeous floral bouquet from Amazon. The flowers come in a huge array of different colors that can match any season or decorating style. Pick your favorite vase, and voila! Room transformed!

Another Amazon favorite find is these vintage-feeling hobnail glasses. I love these! They feel good, look great on the table, and have just enough rustic edge to fit in perfectly. I think I actually drink my milk now because I love using these cups.

Stay Tuned for More Cabin Decor Ideas

I have just begun scratching the surface. As we continue living and enjoying this magical place that has provided so much peace, I can’t wait to keep finding and adding the special things that spark joy. Bring on more cabin décor!

Xoxo,

 Jazz
