Hair Styles for Special Occasions

Valentine's Day hair, date nights, Girls Nights Out …  these are the perfect excuses for you to go above and beyond when it comes to feeling fabulous. Whether heading out for a romantic date or simply indulging in self-love, nothing says "special occasion" quite like a gorgeous hairstyle.

If you're ready to elevate your hair for a special night, here’s a quick gameplan to make sure your style exceeds your wildest dreams:

Step 1: Prep Your Hair

Get ready for styling with the right foundation!

  • Follow with a hydrating conditioner to moisturize and detangle.

  • Towel-dry gently and apply a heat protectant spray to shield your hair from heat damage.

Step 2: Styling Techniques

  • For Classic Curls, use a curling iron or wand to create soft, bouncy spirals. Here is a quick tutorial on how to get curls like mine.

  • Want a more Textured Wave look? Create those loose beach waves with heatless curlers! These will require you to plan ahead and put in several hours (or even the day before) but the waves they create are worth it!

  • Or, if you're feeling more creative, try a Romantic Updo. Gather your hair into a chic bun, and leave a few pieces down to frame your face. Or, use several small rubber bands to create a warrior goddess look out of your ponytail. Start by sweeping your hair into a ponytail, and then tying a rubber band down your ponytail at equal intervals. Cute!

Step 3: Add Volume and Texture

  • For volume at the roots, gently tease your hair with a comb. Apply volumizing mousse or foam to keep the volume locked in.

  • Use a dry shampoo, like my favorite: HASK Chia Seed. This will help add texture and grip, especially if you have fine hair.

Step 4: Add Accessories

  • Attach an elegant hair clip from Kitsch or slip in some pearl bobby pins for a subtle, classy touch.

  • Intertwine a velvet ribbon or put on a decorative headband to complete the special occasion aesthetic.

Go Out and Feel Great!

Your hair should make you feel both stunning and comfortable. When you feel good, it naturally shows! So, take the time to try out these tips and experiment with what suits you best. Don't forget, every Queen deserves her crown— especially when it's made of hair!

xoxo,

Jazz
