How To Remove Nail Dashes

It’s no secret that I adore my Red Aspen at-home manicures.

Not only are they great for you, but your teens and pre-teens will love them, too. With every size, every style, and every design to satisfy even the most discerning customer, there is a nail-dash for everyone!

And…as I always say, it’s time to skip the cost of the salon, but keep the quality!

Pop-On Nail Removal is Easy!

One of my favorite aspects of Red Aspen is that these nails are reusable and so easy to change out depending on your mood, the occasion, or even the outfit you’re planning to wear.

You do NOT have to commit, and that, my friend, is beautiful.

(Needing a quick reminder on how to apply Nail Dashes? Go here for a quick guide.)

Is it Really That Easy?

Yes, yes, and YES! Nail dashes are soooooo easy to take off. However, sometimes it's important to have a little foresight when putting the dashes on ... for example, if I know I want a certain style to stick around for a couple of weeks, I'll generally use a bit more glue.

But if I am putting on a set that matches my dress for an important one-day occasion, I’ll use just little glue dots so that each nail pops off more easily while still staying put during the event.

Wait for the “Pop”

First, wait until the dashes start popping off on their own before you try to remove them. (This will depend on how much glue you used when applying the dashes.)

But once that happens, removal is quick and easy!

Start the Process

Soak your hand in warm, soapy water for several minutes. Then, gently lift from the side of the dash. Apply light pressure, but don’t force it.

If you need to soak for a few minutes more, that is a-okay!  In fact, please do. The extra few minutes in the water will make sure your nails stay as undamaged as possible.

Recently, Red Aspen came out with a nail-dash removal tool that makes life even easier when changing up your at-home manicure! This little guy is designed to remove each dash easily and quickly.

Clean Up Your Natural Nail

Inside every box of dashes is a cute little emery board. This is a great tool that comes standard! It helps with putting on your manicure, shaping the dash (if desired), and helping restore your natural nails after removal.

Use this file to remove any remaining glue on your nailbeds, starting with the blue side of the buffer. Then, use the pink side to restore the natural look of your nails.

At this point, if I am not going to put on another set, I like to rub my nails with some cuticle oil or give my hands an extra special helping of lotion.

If I plan on putting another set of nails on immediately, I usually just swipe the dust and particles away with some rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball.

If your cuticles need some extra love, check out this remover that gently removes any excess before you begin your next manicure.

Time for a New Look!

It couldn’t be easier or more fun to change up your manicures, and now that you know how easy it is with Red Aspen, you’ll never look back!
