Halloween: A Tale of a Boy and His Skeletons

If there is anything my boy Stocky likes, it’s Halloween! There is nothing more fun than enjoying this spooky AND cozy time of year with a little boy that goes alllllllll in.

We brought all our fall decorations to the cabin, and Stocky immediately zeroed in on the Halloween skeletons. Forget the cutie patootie pumpkins! He grabbed those skeletons, and off he went. Later, I found him like this:

Oh, my goodness, I was laughing so hard! But guess what? It only gets better!

The next morning, Stocky begged me to bring his new friends through the school pickup line after school. How could we say no to that?

When Stocky saw we had actually buckled in the skellies and actually brought them through the pickup line, he was beaming!

The day just kept getting better with Stocky’s skeletons flanking him at the table for a spooky dinner. The skellies did better at sitting at the table than most everyone else in my family!

Once everyone’s stomachs were full (haha!) I told Stocky I had one more surprise for him. I’d found a gigantic skeleton and was going to put it up outside. Now, when I say gigantic, I mean HUGE. Like as tall as the roof!

Although it was cold and rainy, Stocky helped me put it all together. After we had completed it, he just stood there and looked at that ginormous skeleton with the most satisfied look on his face and said….

“Mom, this is the best day of my life, I wuv you!”

Talk about a big fat parent paycheck right there!

I’d love to know the times you’ve gotten your own big fat parent paycheck! If you'd like, share your successes in the comments!

Xoxo,

Jazz
